The Autumn Play

The RMDS has a proud tradition of producing quality plays, both comic and dramatic. After a lapse in the mid-Sixties, when interest in amateur theatre seemed to wain, the annual production was resumed in the early Eighties and has thrived. Cast sizes vary from play to play, but every year seems to bring forth more members wishing to dip their toes into the 'legitimate' theatre.

From the minimalist stage of "Habeas Corpus" to the elaborate revolving set of "Noises Off", the RMDS has always taken the demands of a script in its stride. Works by playwrights as divers as Coward, Feydeau and Ayckbourne have all been produced and the standards are consistently high.
