This is the main show of the year for the RMDS. We usually begin singing rehearsals in October, with auditions for the principal parts taking place in November. After Christmas full rehearsals begin in earnest. Our use of the Ringwood School Theatre means that only the last few rehearsals can actually take place on the stage.

The building of the set takes place initially at our costume and scenery store in Verwood, but in the week prior to performance a willing band of helpers descends on the Ringwood School to make our annual transformation.The members of the RMDS build all the scenery and sets from scratch. Our costumes are also home-made, and over the years, thanks to the efforts of several hard-working seamstresses and frequent visits to charity shops and jumble sales, the RMDS has amassed a collection of  costumes for all occasions.
