RMDS ANNUAL AWARDS

The Tessa Casalis de Pury Award This rose bowl is awarded every year in memory of
Tessa Casilis de Pury who was for many years the leader and inspiration of the RMDS costume makers.
It is awarded to a member of the RMDS who is judged to have made an outstanding contribution
to the life of the society during the previous year.

The 2009 recipient of the 'Tessa' award, Denise Beardsworth, receiving the award from Tessa's son, Robert Casilis de Pury, for all her work as vice-chair of the RMDS Committee and as coordinator of the RMDS Summer Show plus innumerable other things she does for us. |

Ronald (Bunny) and Dorice Hare who were for many years devoted members and supporters of the RMDS.
The cup is awarded in recognition of an outstanding performance in an RMDS production. |

The 2010 recipient of the 'Plonker' is Richard Bennett. He was nominated for his performance as Mr. Bascombe in a scene in Carousel, in which he is disarming a knife-wielding Jigger Craigin (Ian Rix). Instead of his actual line 'Drop that knife!', Mr Bascombe is heard to tell Jigger 'Drop that gun!'. Plonker!
