The Summer Show

There was a time when the only show produced by the RMDS was the annual musical. Then a request came from the eager members for a show of some sort to be produced in the summer months.
Due to the lack of a suitable location for another large scale show, the idea was put forward of using the local Greyfriars Community Centre and dividing the show into smaller more manageable chunks.
The show was very well received and has thrived ever since, growing and evolving all the time. It now features three 35 minute shows and runs for five nights.

Producers are found from the membership and they decide on the new three-cornered theme. Then, after a great deal of hard bargaining and trading, three small teams of performers are created from the total number of members wishing to take part. Usually there are 15 to 20 in each section.
Rehearsals take place from the end of April in various halls in and around Ringwood. When the week of the show arrives, the Monday dress rehearsal audience is always the other two sets of performers
